Carolyn Huntoon

Dr. Carolyn Huntoon was Director of the Johnson Space Center from 1994 to 1996.  She spearheaded studies of space biology concentrating on the effects of space travel on the human body.  She earned numerous science fellowships and was awarded the Russian Federation’s Yuri Gagarin Medal and S.P. Koralov Medal for her role in developing the Shuttle-Mir program.
