Eilene Galloway

Often referred to as “the great matriarch of space law,” Eilene Galloway drafted the legislation for the National Aeronautics and Space Act that led to the creation NASA.  

Later, as member of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, she represented the United States in creating treaties governing space exploration and the uses of outer space.  Her work became the foundation of national and international space law.
