NASA's Teacher in Space Project

In August of 1984, Ronald Reagan would announce NASA’s Teacher in Space Project. It would be the first time a civilian would go to space. In coordination with the Council of Chief State School Officers and NASA, the participants would be chosen. In November of that same year (1984), the requirements for the program would be released.
