Between 1985 and 1990, Dr. John B. Charles was part of the NASA team that created and tested the inflatable, collapsible Lower Body Negative Pressure (LBNP) Device that was first flown on STS-32. The design needed modifications before it was perfected in the 1990s. This photograph includes a message from the STS-32 astronauts to Dr. Charles for his work to help make their astronaut space travel safer and healthier. ]]></dcterms:description>
